Samson Projects is pleased to participate at Volta 5 with works by Matthew Rich, Henry Taylor, Craig Drennen, Nicole Cherubini & Michael Phelan.

Matthew Rich (b. 1976, Boston, MA., lives and works in Boston) recently had solo exhibitions at devening projects + editions (Chicago, IL) and The Suburban (Oak Park, IL). Rich is currently in residence in Skagaströnd, Iceland. His work is on view in Mundane Shift Shape Placement at Park Life (SF, CA). A large public work is on view through November 2009 on the Northeastern University campus (Boston, MA). His 1st solo with Samson opens in October: IRE & ICE.

Henry Taylor’s work is currently included in 30 Americans at the Rubell Family Collection (Miami, FL) and just closed a solo exhibition at Mesler & Hug (LA, CA).

Craig Drennen (b. 1966, Elyria, OH, lives and works in Savannah, GA) Drennen just closed a solo exhibition; Mistresses, Apemantus, & Flattering Lords at Gallery Stokes (Atlanta, GA). He has his 2nd solo with Samson in 2010.

Nicole Cherubini was recently included in an expanded field of possibilities at the Santa Barbara Contemporary Arts Forum (Santa Barbara, CA). Dirt on Delight travels from the Institute of Contemporary Art (Philadelphia, PA) to the Walker Art Center (Minneapolis, MN) this summer. Cherubini opens a project room at the Santa Monica Museum of Art (LA, CA) in September.

Michael Phelan’s work is currently on view in Abstract America: New Painting From the U.S. at the Saatchi Gallery (London, UK). Large scale site-specific works will be exhibited Portugal Art '09 (Lisbon, Portugal). Phelan has a solo exhibition with Samson in September.
